[SOME HOURS after they previously talked and the Castle Guard is done being poked and prodded by the crowd, Agony will be stopping by with a thing.

It's his first time visiting someone else's realm. How social of him.]

[ You'll find yourself in a hallway that is half rug, half waterway. Castle Guard is there at the end of it, to greet you. ]

[That must have gotten old quickly. Well, if any other guests have cleared out, then he'll get down to business. He's carrying something covered by pale lace, which he begins to unwrap as he walks down the hallway.]

Here, Guard. Cotton Candy gave this to me for safekeeping, when I asked her if she wanted me to bring you anything.

[It's a book. He holds it out to her without touching it directly.]

[ She stares at it for a little bit, then takes it with both hands. ]

But I can't read.

...Perhaps it contains something more than words.

[And yes, Diz is finally stopping by... And looking very tired. The past few days have been really eventful and some people haven't slept yet.]

Candy? I mentioned it before, but could I get that quest from you now?

[ Looking a little concerned, and quickly making a comfy couch for them to sit on. ]

Yes... but are you sure you're okay to do it?

[Yes, sitting down on that comfy couch. Maybe I'll just stay there forever.]

I can always do it after resting, but I thought I should at least get the quest first. It's just been a bit busy lately.

[ Opening up the arm of the comfy couch and out comes a small goldfish bowl filled with water and... an egg in it? ]

Look after it, and when it hatches, you'll get your key. [ The egg is translucent and purple, but there's a shiny golden thing in the centre. ]

It just needs some loving!

Yep! And that's all you need to do.

[ It's easy if you have time to spare. Not so much if you don't. ]

...Assuming the rest of my teammates don't lock me in the dorm once I get back, and thus have lots of time to spare.]

...Ah, aside from that, I believe Ed from Tiamat will want to talk to you in a bit. He thinks he might be able to find a clue about the nature of echoes from examining your staff, which could help everyone out in a lot of ways.

Still, it's your decision whether to let him look at it or not. Don't let me influence your decision too much.

I don't have my staff. I gave it to Armin as a sign of trust.

[ she shrugs. It was the only thing she arrived with, and yes she does think about it often but. It should be safe, right? She wouldn't have given it to him if she didn't think it safe. ]

I could ask for it back, if it's urgent.

No, that's fine. I wouldn't exactly say it's urgent, so we'll just have to talk to Armin, too.

[ Now that's done with she can relax on the couch, curling up her tail to hug it. ]

Also... how do you feel about my place being kind of... a safe space for cats? And you, if you want, too. I know Candy was one of them, and that she... she would want to protect them. I just- have a feeling that the tower isn't a safe place for them because of the whole Brainwashed Queen thing.

I think that's fine, though I can't really say they'll be entirely safe. Their mirrors would still be under Nyssa's control, after all. We would probably have to move their mirrors over to here, and... I don't think they'll be able to leave your realm if we do that?

Still, letting the Cats know that there's an echo they can count on no matter what is a good idea. I'll let them know.

No, moving mirrors is too dangerous. And the dorms are technically their patron's, since they didn't change at all from the inside. I assume, anyway.
